He is a veteran of the United States Navy’s Submarine Force, having served in both nuclear and conventionally powered submarines during the Cold War, from 1967 until 1971. During this time he completed five Polaris deterrent patrols aboard the USS George Bancroft SSB(N) 643 (Blue Crew) and a year aboard the USS Hardhead SS 365, an old World War II vintage “fleet boat”.
John served for over 20 years with the City of Dover Police Department in Delaware, retiring with the rank of Captain.
